2026 is the year of the fire horse. Ready to ignite?

Embrace new beginnings this Chinese new year.

Let me start with one question:

Are you ready to ride the Fire Horse in 2026?

Ok, so in practical terms, maybe riding a flaming horse is not such a great idea, but stick with me here.

You may or may not know that in the Chinese zodiac, on Feb 17, we moved from the year of the snake to the year of the horse. We also moved from the element of wood to the element of fire. On Feb 17, 2026, we moved into:

The year of the fire horse!

I`m not usually dialled in with chinese new year, and hadn`t previously been aware of the combination of the 12 animals with the 5 elements creating a 60-year cycle.

But right now I need this in my life.

And it also means we last had a fire-horse pairing in… 1966! The year England won the World Cup!!! Okay, okay –  I am biased. But I digress…

Let’s Be Honest…

It’s February.

The Christmas glow has faded. January resolutions may have already fallen by the wayside. The gym is quieter. Your “New Year, New Me” might already be “Old Me, But Slightly More Tired.”

If the daffodils are poking through, but your mojo isn`t – I feel you. Winter hasn’t finished with us. Cold, wind, rain, ice and frost. Oh, and darkness. Energy can feel low.

And if you’re a man over 35, you might also be feeling:

  • Stuck in a rut

  • Struggling to realise your vision
  • Wondering when momentum quietly slipped into maintenance mode

That’s where the fire horse comes in.

What Does the Fire Horse Represent?

Think:

  • Momentum after stillness

  • Courage to change direction (or to continue in the same direction if that`s what you want)

  • Regaining your power

  • Vitality returning

  • Moving from containment to expression

The Horse is action. Fire is ignition.

Together? Movement with intent.

And here’s the thing – at this stage of life, we don’t need reinvention.

We need reforging.

Not burning everything down.

Not pretending we’re 20 again.

But taking what’s strong, what’s experienced, what’s weathered – and heating it enough to reshape it.

The days are becoming lighter. Energy is beginning to return. Invoke the energy of the fire horse to propel you forward.

A Second Beginning

If January didn’t spark in the way you intended, let the fire horse give you a second chance.

The Fire Horse doesn’t creep in with polite resolutions. It kicks the stable door open.

This blog exists to support men navigating strength, tension, transition and renewal at mid life.

If you’re ready to:

  • Explore new possibilities

  • Shift long-held patterns

  • Or simply feel like yourself again

You’re in the right place.

So put away your wood snake (ahem) and saddle up your fire horse, and LET’S RIDE 2026 TO VICTORY.

What needs reforging in your life?

Let’s make 2026 a year of momentum — not maintenance.
